Educators from leading institutions gathered for the three-day global HP Catalyst Summit in New Delhi, India beginning March 10th. Science teacher, Ms. Kelly Clymer-Smith, and mathematics teacher, Mr. TJ Colling will represent Rancocas Valley Regional High School which was awarded a $150,000 two-year grant in September 2010 to investigate the impact of HP technology on measuring student learning.
HP is building a global network of consortia that is developing more effective approaches to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. The goal is to transform STEM learning and teaching, and to inspire students to use their technical and creative ingenuity to address urgent social challenges in their communities. What’s needed is fresh thinking about STEM education that incorporates important new disciplines in an interdisciplinary way, emphasizes creative and global collaboration skills, and puts student empowerment at its core.
